Sonali brings more than 16 years of global brand building and CSR/Sustainability experience in corporate, and social enterprise sectors across multiple industries, including consumer goods, healthcare, technology and microfinance in both developed and emerging markets.
In her current role Sonali is responsible for leading the Sustainability & Engagement team at Johnson & Johnson, that stewards execution of the global enterprise sustainability strategy and engages key stakeholders to amplify and accelerate the impact of the organization’s sustainability efforts. Prior to that, she led the Global Brand Management at FINCA International, an inclusive finance social enterprise, where she led the brand transformation across 23 Subsidiaries in Africa, Eurasia, the Middle East and South Asia, and Latin America. Sonali has spent several years as a brand strategy and CSR/Sustainability consultant to a diverse group of CPG, healthcare, apparel & footwear, hospitality, and nonprofit organizations. Earlier in her career, Sonali worked at Interbrand as Director, Brand Strategy, and at Procter & Gamble as Assistant Brand Manager, Healthcare, in ASEAN, Australia and India.
Sonali is passionate about the intersection of social impact, technology and business to create sustainable social change. She also co-founded a seed-funded technology startup at the intersection of corporate brand building, charitable causes, and social media, that wound down operations in 2012.
Sonali earned a Bachelor of Business Studies degree from the College of Business Studies, University of Delhi, India; a Master of Business Administration from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, India; and a Master in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA.
