Experts with the ALA recognize that biodiesel not only reduces carbon emissions but can also provide health benefits associated with cleaner air.
The American Lung Association (ALA) has long been a
champion for clean air because of the health risks associated with air
pollution. That’s why the ALA supports increased use of cleaner-burning,
renewable fuels such as biodiesel. According to the US Environmental Protection
Agency, pure biodiesel reduces life cycle carbon dioxide
emissions by 57 to 86 percent compared with petroleum diesel.
