Mauro Gonzalez is the Director Sustainable Agriculture at Philip Morris International, where strategies and guidelines are defined to help farmers and their communities becoming more sustainable, productive and resilient.
Mauro Gonzalez is part of the Philip Morris International (PMI) Leaf Management Team and has been working in the agriculture and tobacco sector for more than 20 years. Mauro leads the Global Leaf Sustainable Agriculture organization, where he develops strategies and coordinates the execution of operational plans across all regions to ensure sustainability in the tobacco-growing communities. His function implements programs and initiatives to solve human rights challenges, ensures farmers and workers fair income and nutrition, as well as addresses the impact of the farming activities in the environment.
