Extra Extra: Company Publishes 150+ Page PDF?

8 years ago - Let’s face it — if you’re breaking news with a sustainability report, you’re probably doing it wrong. We came to this realization several years ago as we were changing up our reporting structure. We had moving stories, first-hand accounts and brilliant pictures. We also had great data, and loads of information on governance, policies, training and management. Did it really make sense to hold all this material and send it into the world once a year in a fell swoop?Probably not. So we broke our “report” into a real-time blog, and an online reporting resource that we update at least annually (if not more frequently). A year into this change, I’m happy to say it’s going well.

An Intelligent Approach to Water Management
An Intelligent Approach to Water Management

8 years ago - By: Michael Sullivan, IBM Smarter Water Management Executive*The Third in a Series About Machine-to-Machine Technology and Water Management.Properly maintained water systems underpin our quality of life. Inefficiencies in how we manage our precious water resources are very costly. Municipalities must spend a tremendous amount of money moving and treating water, and on average 25 percent of water produced never reaches end users because of leaks and water main bursts. Couple all these expensive repair bills with extreme weather patterns that are either leaving cities with way too much -- or far too little water -- and it’s no wonder why water crises are now ranked as the top threat to economic development worldwide.

I am proud of the many hours my AT&T colleagues devote to helping others – not only during National Volunteer Week – but during every other week throughout the year. During this year’s National Volunteer Week, I spent my time supporting the United Cerebral Palsy Land of Lincoln (UCPLL). UCPLL provides comprehensive services to over 600 children and adults with disabilities throughout Central Illinois. Over four days, a group of us completed various activities including helping UCPLL participants with art projects and making the center more beautiful by planting flowers.
